We have a mixed herd of Saneen, Kiko, and Savannah-Boer goats. Our herd is closed for the past 5 years and have maintained a regular vaccine schedule. They have full access to pasture, hay, fresh vegetables, fresh fruit, and a special mix of dried peas only available on our farm. 


We currently have 33 breeding Does that will provide us with many kids - usually in April. We are excited to see all the "littles" join the world.  Yes, it is a bit crazy around here when all the kids are born and when they start jumping and being ninjas across our pasture. Always good for a laugh though!

Current pricing is calculated and based on Alberta market therefore asking $5.00 per lbs live weight.
We have a few options that you can choose from when purchasing a goat or two:

  • Option #1: Buying as a PET - come by and pick out your goat - once weened will arrange for either pick up or drop off - drop off will be an additional cost of $30 within the Foothills area. 
  • Option #2: Buying for MEAT - come by and pick out your goat or allow us to choose for you.
    • A. Pick up your goat live or dispatched and take it home to process yourself.
    • B. You Butcher - we dispatch, you cut and process here at the farm bring your own knifes, torch, ice and containers. We have a clean and sanitary area in our barn that you can use. Appointments are booked in 1 hour time slots therefore large cuts only - if you want to cube please take it home to finish processing.
      • I f you want to burn the hair off there will be an additional fee of $30 as it will take longer than the original time slot - this needs to be discussed and agreed upon prior to your appointment. 
    • C. We Butcher - we dispatch, we cut and process for you for an extra charge of $50, we are not professional butchers just farmers therefore your goat will be prepared in large cuts. Your carcass will include 2 shoulders, 2 back legs, ribs cage, back bone, head, 4 feet and entire stomach with all offals. Arrangements can be made for same day pick up if you do not want the meat frozen. 
      • Skinning the goat is included however if you want the hair burnt off there will be an additional fee of $30.
    • Payment must be received before the animal is dispatched.
    • All animals that are dispatched and processed here on the farm through our on-farm-slaughter permit is considered UNINSPECTED therefore not for resale or distribution beyond the customer and their immediate household. 
    • D. Deliver to Meat Processing Company - we will deliver the live goat to a meat processing company such as Red Deer Lake Meats, Foothills Custom Meat Processing, Alberta Meats or a company of your choosing within the Foothills Area. You need to make an appointment on days we are available to deliver and arrange for all cuts directly with the company you choose. Delivery cost - $30. There will be a cost associated with processing that will be your responsibility to cover directly with the company upon pick up of your meat.
    • E. Goat in a Box - do not want the hassle of arranging processing and delivery - for $400 you can have a frozen goat that is ready for the oven.  This is the "get what you get and don't get upset" option. Pick up only. Goat was dispatched and processed in a licensed facility therefore considered inspected meat. 
  • Option #3: Raw Dog Food  - you can feed your hungry pets with goat meat as well. You take everything besides the stomach contents. That means you will be able to feed the horns and hoofs as treats, dry the skin for chew toy or whatever you desire. 

Deposit of $50 per goat is required to secure your order and can be sent to hornygoatacres@gmail.com - once received we will work with you to determine which option you would like to choose and the dates that we can accommodate you. 
Payment needs to be received prior to animals leaving our farm - no exceptions!
